Hello everyone, and happy new year to you all ! Best wishes for 2026, may this new year bring you joy, happiness, and much success in all your personal and professional endeavours! Very happy to embark on this IRIS adventure with all of you!
Continuing a tradition established at LITO, I will send a weekly newsletter every Monday morning. The aim is to keep everyone informed about what is happening in the different teams and at the different sites. This newsletter belongs to you, so please feel free to send me any information you would like to see included in it. The newsletter is aimed to be quick to read so anytime you’d like to know more about one item, please feel free to contact the person the item relates to. If you do not wish to receive the letter, or if anyone else is willing to receive it, please just let me know.
I write the letter in English so that it’s readable by non-French speaking colleagues. If these colleagues would prefer to have it in French so that they can improve their French, please let me know and I can switch (but I won’t post it in French AND English).
Lab life:
- The IRIS Inserm Unit number is U1353. I have not received the CNRS UMR number yet.
- We are preparing a proposal for the Inserm call: https://pro.inserm.fr/rubriques/appels-a-projets/strategie-decennale-cancer-2021-2030/apports-a-loncologie-des-mathematiques-et-de-linformatique-mic (deadine January the 8th) that will be submitted by our colleagues from INRIA Nice (Projects needs to be led by mathematicians or computer scientists). Fanny will be the PI for IRIS, and the project will be about Improving Cancer Care and Treatment by characterizing the Imageable Whole Body Metabolic Connectome.
- We will soon organize the election for the Unit council, in which there should be representatives of each category of staff (PhD, engineers, researchers, technicians, aso). I will send a specific email during this week with the composition of the council and a call for applications, and once the candidates for each category of staff have declared themselves, we (Isabelle BP and I) will organize an electronic poll.
- Christophe has secured a web site for IRIS: https://iris-curie.fr/ and we now need to reorganize and populate the pages (current content is that of LITO). For that, it would be great to have one webmaster per team (I can remain the webmaster for ICE), who will have access rights and will be responsible for regularly updating the website. Please volunteer! Each of you will also have access to the intranet (private pages accessible to IRIS members only), and Christophe will send you your credentials for that. For members of LITO, credentials remain unchanged.
